Let's consider a job with 3 interior rooms, each with the ceiling, walls, baseboard trim, doors and windows painted.
Briefly Explaining the # of Sales Calculation
Results from an interior painting project with 3 rooms, each room 8x10x10 with 2 windows and 2 doors.
If a typical assembly type item library is used that would yield the following result if each room was 10 x 10 x 8 and the following substrates were painted in each room: ceiling, walls, baseboard trim, 2 doors and 2 windows in each room.
- Interior painting labor overview
- Number of sales
- Interior painting labor is used on each of the 5 substrates x 3 rooms for a number of sales that = 15.
- The quantity sold is the number of hours calculated based on the production rate of the 5 substrates.
- The total sales = $75 per hour x quantity sold
- Number of sales
- Interior trim paint (gallon)
- Number of sales
- Used on 3 substrates (baseboard, door, window) x 3 rooms = 9
- The quantity sold is the number of hours calculated based on the production rate of the 3 substrates
- The total sales = $85 per gallon x quantity sold
- Number of sales
- Paint Baseboard Trim - 2 coats (LNFT)
- Number of sales = 3 because that substrate is in 3 rooms
- Quantity sold = 100 SQFT per room x 3 rooms = 300 quantity
- Total sales = 300 SQFT x $1.22 / SQFT = $366.00
Sorting the report differently the rooms that were painted will also be seen.
